We’ve been wanting to add a retaining wall between the house and the storage shed ever since we moved in. The nice weather finally gave us the chance. We decided to use the large rocks around our property instead of buying brick, so Brad had to weld together an extra gadget for Bob to handle the job…
Brandi even helped out with some of the digging!

As part of the ongoing firefighter training, the fire department is building a SCBA competency course. In full firefighter gear (including the air tank), we will have to climb over, under and through an obstacle course complete with ropes to get tangled in, a descending ‘ceiling’, a collapsible floor, and ceiling joists!
After months and months of cold and rainy weather, we finally had a nice weekend. Usually, the house-bound critters look like this…
But with the sun out, they all finally got off the couch and ventured outside!
First we heard the barking, followed by a sharp yelp…then Brandi was at the back door smelling like skunk! She got sprayed right in the face and now the ENTIRE house stinks!!
The Colton Fire Department thought it would help our public service image by running a series of articles in the big city paper, the Molalla Pioneer. We were picked to be first! Here is our media debut….autographs can be arragned for a nominal donation.
Our neighbor Rhonda hosted her 3rd annual birthday bash!
One of Colton’s “can’t miss” events is the annual Volunteer Firefighter Auction and Breakfast. We spent the last few weeks picking up donations and sorting garage sale items in preparation for the big event. We had a good turn out as temperatures soared into the 90’s and raised just over $5,000.
In preperation for the Annual Colton Fire Department Auction, we were at the station late Friday night. Upon returning home, we found that Tigger discovered a new toy…the toilet paper roll!
We made it home from Seattle to find that Dee Dee had a surprise for us….a little bull calf! Chucky (aka Chuck Roast) was born on Wednesday and we had a blast watching him wobble and run through the grass fields!
Today we woke up to find the ship already docked in Katchikan, famous for their totum poles. We walked through town and had fun watching the Lumberjack Competition.
