Mud Volcano & Dragon’s Mouth Spring
This was the first set of geothermal attractions we came upon while in Yellowstone, which has over 10,000 hot springs, geysers, mud pots and steam vents located throughout the park. These ones had a particularly strong sulfer smell… Stinky!!!

Jackson Hole, Wyoming
This morning we arrived in Jackson Hole…just checkin’ out the town, waiting to meet up with Mom and Jean.
Trail Creek Campground
Just as we crossed into Wyoming we found a cute little campground. We picked a spot right next to the creek to spend the night.

Craters of the Moon
Last night we camped at the Craters of the Moon campground near Arco, Idaho. The vast fields and formations of lava flow came frim fissures across the Snake River known collectively as the Great Rift. The most recent eruption occurd a mere 2,000 years ago. NASA’s Apollo astronauts came here in 1969 to learn basic volcanic geology as they prepared for their moon missions.
Oregon Trail Interpretive Center
The second stop on our vacation was at the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in Baker City, just about an hour west of the Idaho border.
