Pumpkin Regatta

We attended the our first pumpkin regatta! Growers enter their giant pumpkins into a weight contest and once complete they toss them into the lake and start carving!
This year there was even a casualty- one pumpkin boat sunk coming around the last corner! We’ll can’t wait for next year’s regatta!

San Fran

I had a ok trip to San Francisco for work – stayed in the Grand Hyatt with a great view, and even made it out of the hotel long enough to visit China Town to pick up some gifts. However, Brad was having more fun at home – house fire Wednesday night and huge brush fire Thursday night…. Bummer!

Niagara Falls

Very cool to see the falls but so sad Brad isn’t here with me 🙁
Several of these pictures were taken onboard the Maid of the Mist, the boat that takes passengers right up to the base of the falls. Goat Island divides the falls between US and Canada.

And this is Cave of the Winds, where you can walk right up to the falls on a long and windy deck (fun fact – the whole deck is taken down and completely replaced each year!) All who visit this area MUST trade in their shoes for these stylish kicks – Brad would have loved this part!

Elwood Picnic

And to finish off the weekend’s activities, we had the Elwood Community Picnic (in the cemetary). This year our event coordinator included a local band from Estacada (recognize them from ‘First Friday’ and Rhonda’s wedding?!)
Brad even brought down Colton’s very own Engine 1!

Farm Days

Next up in our weekend of local events is Farm Days in Colton. The event featured booths from local farmers, musicians, and artists as well as demonstrations for oxen, dog agility, and sheep hearding. The volunteers even brought the Rescue and a table staffed by Brad & Jodi.
