Crazy Windy

The wind picked up this afternoon and, at one point, was actually prettyscary. Large branches fell all around the house – one landed on the truck, one just outside the door, and another took out a gate. Needless to say the power has been out for several hours and we expect it will be for at least sevetal more. Thankfully we have the house running on the generator!

Waaay Off Broadway

A friend called with tickets to the Springwater dinner and theater production at the grange. Now, Springwater is just across the highway from Colton and is very similar… Minus the post office, high school, middle school, and fire department. The play was about a group of nuns trying todolve a murder. When the lay opened with a local banjo player, I knew we were in for a treat!

Full of Firsts

Today was full of firsts:
First trip to West Virginia to see dad’s hometown
First time at Morgantown Brewing and tasting their awesome IPA beer cheese soup
First time seeing braille parking signs (????)
And, first time across the eastern continental divide!

White Christmas

We headed out Thursday morning to try and avoid the bad weather. News channels reported lots of issues and snow all the way up to Oregon. Although we didn’t see much snow on our trip, there was plenty waiting for us at home…looks like Colton had a white christmas!
