A Very Merry Christmas

We decided to open just a few presents since Cindi and Jean are coming in on Friday. Kenzie walked out to the front room to find the Kitchen set from Santa! She also got a stroller for her baby but once she got the baby strapped in, she whipped through the house and it was tough to get a picture! Kenzie’s Magas Skyped us while Kenzie was brushing her teeth. Kenzie made her first pretend breakfast…. Steak and eggs! Finally, tonight we got a call from Kenzie’s Nana and all of her cousins, aunt and uncle in Utah!

Music Adventures

Kenzie’s center offers enrichment courses for their students including music, cooking, math and phonics. Kenzie is only old enough for the music class and she started a couple of weeks ago. Kenzie has so much fun with her Music Adventures teacher, Ms. Sue Ann. The kids get to take home a CD with the music they move to and play along with in class. We played the CD on our drive up to Mount Hood this weekend…

Kenzie’s new boots

Jodi drove into work today and realized that She forgot Kenzie’s shoes. Instead of making the hour and a half round-trip again, we stopped at Walmart. The plan was to buy the cheapest slip on shoes but Kenzie had a different plan. She said, no mama, boots! So we ended up with these very pink, very sparkly boots and she loves them!

Room Transitions

Now that Kenzie is almost two, she’s moving up into the Jr. Preschool class at here center. The ratio is 5 to 1 instead of 4, and there are 10 kids in this class. She’s no longer the only girl in her class (she’s been with all boys since she started at 3 months old). But the good news is that her friends Bralen, Arthur and Bennett are transitioning into the Steel Room with her.

Christmas Traditions

Last year, Kenzie was too young to enjoy some of the usual holiday events. This year, we’re hopefully starting some of our own family traditions that she can look forward to for many more years.
