2nd Day in Maui
Day 2 and we decided to pack up and drive up to the north side of the island. A good portion is a one lane, very curvy road. We stopped to watch the blow hole then continued on to Kaanapali where we took the kids on a combo glass bottom boat/submarine type thing to see the coral and sea life. We also played in the park around the huge banyan tree. Finally, we went back to the hotel and played in the pool just before sunset.
Tour of the Andaz
All of our hotel stays are covered by points. Because our flight landed after midnight, our first stay was in a Courtyard by the airport. Our next two nights are at a pretty fancy hotel – the Andaz Hyatt. The center of the lobby is a huge sandbox and it overlooks a series of infinity pools with a great view of the ocean.
The bathroom and shower are behind the bed so you can sit in the shower with the overhead rain heads on and look out the window at the waves and beach.
1st Day in Maui
What better way to tour the town than in a convertible! Trying to get all of our luggage in it, on the other hand, not so good.
We met up with Kent, Miranda and Dylan while we waited for our room to be ready. Kenzie LOVED playing in the water and holding Dylan’s hand while we walked around town.
30 flights before the age of 2!
Flight #30 to Maui and our first flight over 3 hours. The flight attendant reported 6 hours and 20 minutes for the actual flight time. Although off to a little bit of a rough start, Alaska no longer requires portable devices to be powered down so Kenzie got to watch Elmo for the take off and then fell asleep about an hour in to the flight. With over 100 empty seats, we were able to stretch out a bit.
Elmo
Kenzie LOVES Elmo so she was sure to love this app that looks like Elmo is Skying her! She’s learned which button to push to answer his calls – so cute!
2nd Home
Our new motorhome may turn out to be our new second-home! We went out for a quick camping trip again this weekend, this time with the dogs.
Hug Point
We took another quick stop off at Hug Point so our driver could take a nap. Great opportunity for Jodi and Kenzie to go play on the beach and for K to see the place where momma and dada got married.
Tillamook Air Museum
While on our weekend trip we took a quick detour to the Tillamook air museum. Brad may say walking through the ‘little guppy’ was the best part of the visit, but Kenzie would disagree; she clearly found the excellent puddle jumping opportunities to be the best part!
First Trip
We’ve had the motorhome for less than a week and we’re hittin’ the road! First stop: Spirit Mountain Casino for a free place to stay overnight then on to Lincoln City and up to Tillamook.
