Half way to the beach, we decided to head back home; Brad got a page to standby at the fire station and Jodi got a page to help Mountain Wave evacuation for the Pit 36 fire. Since all reports indicated a shift towards Colton, we thought we should be prepared. After video taping the house, getting an animal evacuation plan in place, then throwing a few important things in the motor home, we headed back to the beach! As Brad said, it’s State Farm’s problem now!
Day 3 of staying home with a fever and this mom just had to get out of the house… So off to the Cafe for breakfast. Kenzie has her own fans there. The waitress always keeps cereal and a Thomas the Train spoon on hand just for her, and Alan will play peek-a-boo from across the restaurant. The spinning chairs are fun, too!
Lots of canning! 40 jars of Brad’s spaghetti sauce, drunken cherries in whiskey, drunken cherries in brandy, cherry jam, blueberry and blueberry mojito jam, peaches in vanilla syrup, peach and honey jam and, of course, wild blackberry jam!
I had big plans to take pictures of Kenzie in her new classroom (Interstate), her new teachers (Ms. Catherine and Ms. Marilyn), but she had different plans – like a temperature of 102!
But, sick in bed means dinner in bed!
Cuddling with Elmo makes everyone feel better!
Kenzie is starting to get the hang of driving her Gator so this weekend we gathered some apples that had fallen off of the tree and were going to go bad and brought them back for the horses. She was a BIG HELP!
A tea party with with Magas!
What’s better than a tea party?
A tea party with Super Girl!
Although we had a great time camping near the beach, it’s nice to be home…
