On our way to Kanazawa, we decided to get some food at the train station. Jodi used Google translate to see what we would be eating for lunch. “Uninhabitable lunch” is the phrase that is sticking with me. Oh well, down the hatch. When in Rome…
We started the morning at a VERY small laundromat then headed off to see the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine. Around 10am we’ll pack up and catch the train to Kanazawa. It should be about a 2 hour train ride along the north coast of the island.
Arashiyama Monkey Park was the best experience yet! It was a killer hike to the top but well worth it when we got there. We were able to spend as much time as we wanted walking among the monkeys and taking pictures.
After the monkeys, we walked through the Bamboo Forest and then stopped for more ramen at a VERY popular place!
Our first day was spent walking everywhere: Kiyomizu Temple, Sannenzaka street, Gion, Yasaka Shrine, the underground mall at the Tokyo station, Nishiki Market, and the best Ramen experience at Ramen!
After a 12 hour flight which left LAX Tuesday at 1pm, we arrived in Osaka, Japan on Wednesday at 6pm!
Kenzie is so excited to be staying with her grandmas for a week and a half while we are in Japan!
