We rented bikes to tour the town today and saw the sites! We started with Dutch pancakes then moved on to the outdoor flower market. We stopped for lunch and then Jodi went to the Van Gogh museum while Kenzie and Brad found a fountain.
The infamous Red Light District!
1:30pm and we’re officially on VACATION! The first good news of our trip… what we thought was going to be a 12 hour flight turned out to be only 9 1/2 hours! Kenzie’s flight #87. She did great but none of us got much sleep so when we got to the hotel Thursday morning, we were tired! We took a 4 hour nap then used the hop on hop off bus to get a lay of the land.
We picked a restaurant with local favorites and, although it had great ratings, it wasn’t great. Brad read that Amsterdam isn’t known for their food…. so far, we agree. But, we found a good crepes place for dessert!
The view from our hotel room:
Never more than a few steps away from anywhere around here it seems…
The circus came tomorrow! We stop by in the morning to watch them raise the tent and then came back in the afternoon to see the show.
Jodi was super excited to be invited to the girls ‘Same Time Next Year’ weekend with an awesome group of ladies and mentors. Such a great weekend!
With 274 votes, Brad is now a school board member!
We drove up to Seattle for our very first My Little Pony convention and Kenzie LOVED it! Jodi had fun people watching and Brad couldn’t stand to be in the area for more than a few minutes in a time. We did Pony crafts, watched Pony movies, bought Pony buttons and toys, then got ready for the big dance!!! Kenzie became enamored with Princess Luna (Kenzie gave her a dream catcher she made and Princess Luna gave her the one she made). At the Gala, Luna came up to say hi and Kenzie followed her everywhere! She even cried when Luna had to leave. But, we found other princesses and she enjoyed the rest of the night. People loved her Princess Twilight costume and Mom’s Rainbow Dash got a few compliments, too!
We went camping in Garibaldi (Oregon) last weekend and while we were there Kenzie learned to rider her bike without the training wheels! It only took about 10 minutes for her to pick it up and she was off and going.

We’re camping in the motor home and found the gingerbread house we forgot to put together in December!
