After days and days of non-stop practice, we passed our EMT practicals today! We tested in 6 stations (Cardiac arrest management, Trauma assessment, Medical assessment, Airway Management/PEAD, KED – Seated spinal immobilization, and the random station – Jodi drew splinting and Brad drew Oxygen administration) and we passed all on the first try! Wheeeew! We have been so stressed out the last few days we almost didn’t feel like eating dinner at the Colton Cafe Friday night (note the word almost – we did manage to take a break and set aside our nerves for an hour). We thought we were stressed going into the test this morning…but Brad said someone chundered all over the bathroom floor in the men’s room. Looks like we weren’t alone!
Now we just have to get past the National computer-based test and we’ll be official Oregon EMTs!
